My Review:

Russian Tattoos:  Obsession (Russian Tattoos #1)

4/5 Stars!

This is one of those WOW books. You know – Wow, did I just read that? Wow, did she really just do that? Wow, he said what? I loved it. It was dark and suspenseful. The romance was dark, as well. Vladimir is obsessed with Carter. So much so that he orchestrates their meeting so he can get her right where he wants her.

Carter bothered me a little. I realize she’s only nineteen, but she was rather naïve and then all of a sudden she is a game player and she’s doing her own manipulating.
Vladimir is the dark, brooding anti-hero. He’s that gruff, alpha hero that growls a lot and doesn’t often elaborate. He speaks through his actions. I think he’s sort of crazy, but crazy sure looks good on him.

The story is told from Carter’s point of view, which works. It adds to the mystery and suspense not being in the minds of the other characters.

If you’re in the mood for a dark, brooding hero, a strong heroine and an intense mystery, then this is one to put on your TBR.

Russian Tattoos:  Prisoner (Russian Tattoos #2)

4.5/5 Stars!

The WOW continues in the next book in the Russian Tattoos series!

The story picks up where book 1 leaves off.  Carter has been kidnapped by the Russians again.  There’s a price on her head and she is being held prisoner for her own safety and that of Vladimir’s.  The rest you will have to read for yourself.

Carter has come a long way in this book.  She is no longer that scared girl anymore.  Now she is willing to do whatever it takes to survive.  I really liked the new kick butt Carter.  She does what she has to, but yet she has found a voice and is ready to take what she wants.

Vladimir is a changed man, too.  He is battling his demons and he loves Carter and will do whatever it takes to protect her.  He is still the sexy, dominant mafia boss, but this time he is showing his softer side.

There is action and danger and intrigue.  The moments between Carter and Vladimir are pretty near perfect most of the time.  There is this sweet moment between Carter and one of her captors/bodyguards that had me rooting for someone I never expected.  I still hate Boris, even though his motivations are explained.  Doesn’t change my mind one bit.

This is not your typical mafia, bad boy book.  This is emotional and deep and so, so good!

Be warned.  This ends on one heck of a cliffhanger!!!!
