The Red Door Inn
Author: Liz Johnson
Paperback: 352 Pages
Series: Prince Edward Island Dreams (Book 1)
Publisher: Revell (March 1, 2016)
Blurb:
Marie Carrington is broke, desperate, and hoping to find sanctuary on Prince Edward Island while decorating a renovated bed-and-breakfast. Seth Sloane moved three thousand miles to help restore his uncle’s Victorian B and B–and to forget about the fiancée who broke his heart.
He wasn’t expecting to have to babysit a woman with a taste for expensive antiques and a bewildering habit of jumping every time he brushes past her. The only thing Marie and Seth agree on is that getting the Red Door Inn ready to open in just two months will take everything they’ve got–and they have to find a way to work together. In the process, they may find something infinitely sweeter than they ever imagined on this island of dreams.
My Review:
Are you ready to slip between the pages of another fantastic? If so, then get ready to take a vacation to another time and place. You won’t even have to leave your favorite reading spot.
This is the first book by Liz Johnson that I’ve read. I wasn’t disappointed with this new (to me) author. I loved that this novel circled around the idea of a beautiful secluded island where you cannot run from your problems. You’ll enjoy several elements to this novel, like: getting to know all of the characters that live in this small town, delicious breakfast treats baked by Caden, and the charming antiques that are sold by Aretha.
I must warning you that there is a flashbacks to a rape scene. Liz Johnson, however, does a fantastic job in showing the story, but not telling it. Since Liz Johnson did such a good job in writing this scene I see that this might be a trigger for some. Overall, I must say that this scene was most tastefully written. I definitely recommend this novel to any and all who are interested reading this novel.
