Review: I finished the second book in the Dorothy Must Die series. I have to say I really enjoyed this book, but it lacked a little something for me.

This book is half the size of the first one and moves along very quickly. The same characters return in the sequel. It is again very hard to write a decent review without too many spoilers since this book is full of really unique twists and turns.

The story continues from the exact point that the first book ends at. This book sticks to its title and the characters definitely dove into a darker place and truly tried to identify what exactly Paige mean when she uses the word wicked.

This book focused more on developing Amy as a character and who she is becoming after interacting with her surroundings. The first book focused on Amy’s understanding of what Dorothy had become, while this one steps back and allows Amy to figure out what she has become.

This book is very well written and the imagery and the sarcasm that Paige allows to flow freely is very natural and vivid. The connection between Nox and Amy isn’t forced and it feels as if there is a slow build romance going on. That was kind of a refreshing aspect since a lot of romances in YA books these days feel forced and unnatural.

The third book in the series is supposed to come out in 2017 from what I’ve seen on Goodreads. That is so irritating since I want to read it now! This series is just too good. I guess I’ll have to focus on reading the prequels next. Danielle Paige has at least provided more content for her fans to enjoy while she finishes the next installment.
