Belle – Book Review

Title: Belle (A Tangled Royals Book #1)
Author: Anonymous Girls
Release Date: March 21st 2017
Genre: Young Adult | New Adult | Contemporary
Cover Designer: Jessica Hildreth | Creative Book Designs

Dear Reader,Isabelle “Belle” March is a nobody. A nothing. A Peasant. No one even knew who she was until one of the Royals, Adam “Beast” Castle, decided she was hot enough to ignore the hierarchy at our school—a hierarchy I myself set in place. I run this school, and the Upper East Side, too. Here at H.E.A., we stick to a strict social status, something most of Manhattan does, too. So when Beast starts dating Belle? All hell breaks loose.

Royals shouldn’t date Peasants, and you’re about to see why.

Oh, and please don’t buy this thinking you know how this story is going to end.
You know nothing. Nobody here at H.E.A. plays by the rules, or follows the
books. The only one who knows anything around here is me…

And I’m not telling anyone a thing.

XOXO, Elsa

4.5 STARS!

What do you get when you take fairy tale characters and mash them up with Gossip Girl?  You get Belle, that’s what!

I have to tell you, when I was first approached to read this, I was a bit hesitant.  I wasn’t sure how this was going to go with beloved characters from fairy tales thrust into the snarky Gossip Girl-like world, but let me tell you, it was excellent!

So, our Gossip Girl here is no secret.  She is Elsa, Queen of H.E.A., and she sends out daily blasts on the goings-on at the school.  She is nicknamed the Ice Queen, but this is not her story.  This is Belle’s story and she doesn’t end up with who you think.

I loved this.  I honestly did.  These two authors have quite the collaboration here.  They wrote the characters you love (Snow White, Elsa, Cinderella, Belle, etc.) with enough similarities to the fairy tale stories they are derived from, but added a little twist to each of them, effectively making these characters a bit more interesting.

Don’t let the fact that this is a YA novel fool you.  There is enough snark, bite and steamy goodness to keep this interesting for readers of all ages.  Okay, maybe not younger ones, but you get what I mean.  Add in a poor little rich boy/girl plot, bullying, caste systems and betrayal and you get an entertaining book that will leave you wanting more from the H.E.A. world.

Do yourself a favor and grab this one.  Join in on all the H.E.A. goodness!
