Holiday Wishes – Book Review

holiday wishes

This book is book one in a duet, but can be read as a stand alone story.

When Sean O’Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother’s bachelor weekend, he’s just hoping to make it through the weekend. What he’s not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago—a woman he’s never really forgotten.

The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she’s just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be the wild and free one, and Sean – the good time guy – is the perfect candidate.

But as the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he’s ready to find happily-ever-after, and he wants it with Lotti. But will she open her heart to him again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, he can only hope love and magic are in the air.

When Sean O’Riley was 16 his parents died tragically in a car accident. HIs older brother stepped in as brother, parent and friend for his struggling little brother. Now he’s grown and has the honor of being the best man for his brother’s wedding. Sean wants everything to go smoothly.

Lotti Hartford is the innkeeper of Hartford Bed & Breakfast. To say she has had a rough year would be an understatement. She lost her father, her fiance and she just got dumped…again. She has one weekend before she escapes to a Mexico for some much needed rest and relaxation.

Sean and Lotti met in high school and even enjoyed a whirlwind romance of young love. The young couple is torn apart when Lotti’s family moves out of the city. She’s heartbroken when Sean doesn’t return her calls or her letters. They find themselves in an unexpected reunion when Sean’s soon to be sister-in-law wants to have her bachelor/bachelorette weekend. Has enough time past for these once lovers to rekindle this holiday season?

April’s Review:
Holiday Wishes is a super cute second chance love story that leaves you with hope. There’s lots of love, romantic love, love between friends, brotherly love. Even though there’s lots of love, there’s also a bit of spice.

I was expecting over the top Holiday Christmas story.  I was pleasantly surprised that Holiday Wishes wasn’t overly festive. It’s a great story that happens during the holidays.

Why did we choose this book:
We chose this book because Jill Shalvis is a master of the holiday romance.

Who should read this book:
If you’re in the mood for a sweet and steamy quickie, this is just the book for you.
